“Comparisons are odious.”

In a letter to the Times in St. Petersburg in 2008 I made a comparison between Black suffering in the wake of slavery being like the woe to a fetus slated for abortion: as I was desperate trying to explain to Obama why I couldn’t vote for him–even for the first Black President–even Obama–with such a casual and thoughtless position on abortion. As if it was nothing.

as having no rights whatever, not even human, less even than an animal. I used those words for it and got tagged for it.

I’ve lived in terror ever since.

No more to say in this regard at this time except that I was not trying to threaten the President. I was just trying to make a point. As a fellow Harvard affiliate.
