This was an uconscionable remark when taken out of context.

I am wondering about what the context.was. Whether knowing this would make it would make it better or worse.

I am reminded about the punch bowl incident in Tampa in the 2000’s at an all Black function when sombpebody thought the white European speaking servers spat into the punch bowl and the occasion was disbanded. This was in the news for weeks

Obviously this remark by a professional comedian was an attempt to downplay Trump’s remark about the border and letting in a lot of criminals.
