it was a haunting portrayal of recent issues in Black American life in the South.
I do not appreciate that they chose an exact look alike of my son for the young white ass hole who blew away the husband of the woman he wanted to casually rape. I understand that this is a true story.
But my son is nothing like that. I brought him up to be the most completely unprejudiced person I have ever met. He sees a Black person as he or she is. Without regard to race, much more than me. He had a Black woman for a nanny as a tiny child of 2 when I was so ill and he took Jesus in through her at this age, way ahead of me. I am so grateful to this woman in this regard. She was such a help to our whole family.
I experienced reverse prejudice in the South and turned into a serious racist under Obama. Where I used to naively play into the Black supremacist movement as so many younger white men and women do. I had my own special reasons to do this. But I am slowly learning to turn to my own kind. Such as they are. British American Irish Catholic Jew is a tough one to meet, especially with the LGBTQueer issue. It felt natural to me to turn to Black world with this strange energy when I was young but it is time to quit this; all anybody sees now is a nasty old geriatric white woman with issues and they love to hate on me.
As for “The Butler” it is a compelling movie but when you see Ian please do not think he has anything to do with anyone like that he is a good person.
