perfection

About the sure thing

there was a movie in the 80’s–when I used to watch movies like that–called “The Sure Thing”–about a young college student and his romance life.

the moral of the story was that there is no sure thing, you strive for something good. He goes looking for a cheap date just to have sex; it falls through. He realizes he didn’t really want that and din’t want to hurt her like that. Instead, he meets a girlfriend who he really cares about.

There is a saying “Perfect is the enemy of good.” But there is a kind of perfection that is normal and good. Like a child born without flaws, with all her fingers and toes, et cetera.

Still, we are perfect in Christ, anyway, regardless of any imperfectons in ourselves. We are fragile containers.

And, we will have our perfect bodies in Heaven.

Jesus is the One Sure Thing.

Love is a radical cause.
