my British-American Christian pain

the British Empire fell with World War II and the spirit and soul were decimated along with the bombings of the infrastructure.

Educated Brits fled to America in a wave referred to as the “Brain Drain.” That included my mother and father.

the mood was futility. At worst, cynicism and sarcasm. As a UK/US dual national living outside outside Cambridge, Mass. in 1984, in a fit of serious depression, I was deemed “biting and sarcastic.”

a pimp I talked to at length at the Port Authority when I was running away from home at age 16 asked if I believed in God. I said, “My parents are atheists.”

just like I always used to say, “my parents are British.” I didn’t know what to say about myself.

just now, I figured out my bind, I know how to say it. I was told that Jesus was a man who said he was God. And that God doesn’t exist. !???

You can only imagine what I would have thought about Mary the Mother Ever Virgin.

I now understand snd forgive myself for so many things. I have been an infant Christian in a person with a mind of a 10-year-old.
